BACKGROUND INFORMATION

The Energy and Water Sector Education and Training Authority (“EWSETA”) is a statutory body established through the Skills Development Act of 1998 to enable its stakeholders to advance the national and global position of the energy and water sectors in the large, medium, small levy-paying and non-levy-paying and non-levy-paying companies across the industry.

This was a result of the Government’s commitment to promoting active labour market policies and is demonstrated in the Skills Development Act of 1998 and the Skills Development Levies Act of 1999. As guided by its mandate, the EWSETA is an agent of transformation by promoting employment equity and broad-based black economic empowerment (B-BBEE) through skills development.

The organisation would like to invite suitably qualified young people to participate in the EWSETA Internship programme for a period of 24 months as guided by the Talent Development Policy. University graduates and TVET students who completed N6 certificate are welcome to apply.

EWSETA APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS

EWSETA will consider applications from University Graduates, University of Technology, and T-VET Colleges students. Preference for University of Technology students and T-VET college will be given to students who need in-service training to complete their respective qualifications.

Purpose: Design and implement policies, strategies and programmes to strengthen the ability of manufacturing and other sectors of the economy, to create decent jobs, promote inclusion and increase value addition and competitiveness, in both domestic and export markets

Programme 5: Regulation

Purpose: Develop and implement coherent, predictable and transparent regulatory solutions that facilitate easy access to redress and efficient regulation for economic citizens.

Programme 6: Incentives

Purpose: Stimulate and facilitate the development of sustainable and competitive enterprises, through the efficient provision of effective and accessible incentive measures that support national priorities.

Programme 7: Exports

Purpose: Increase export capacity and support direct investment flows, through targeted strategies, and an effectively managed network of foreign trade and investment offices.

Programme 8: Transformation and Competition

Purpose: Develop and roll out policy interventions that promote transformation and competition issues through effective economic planning, aligned investment and development policy tools.

Programme 9: Research

Coca-Cola Beverages South Africa (CCBSA) has an exciting opportunity in its Logistics department. The company looking for talented individuals with relevant skills and experience for a Fleet Internship programme with Coca Cola Beverages South Africa.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage the Fleet Operation
  • Managing Compliance to Legislation requirements
  • Manage Stakeholders and Contractors
  • Manage Safety, Health and Environment
  • Perform administrative duties

Skills, Experience & Education

  1. Grade 12 with Maths or Maths Literacy – passed at 40%
  2. Trade Test in Diesel Mechanic / Fitter
  3. Must be a South African Citizen
  4. Must be Employment Equity candidate
  5. Must have been unemployed at the time of appointment
  6. Must be between 18-35 years of age.
  7. Two South African Languages passed at 40%
  8. Driver’s Licence advantageous

Requirement For AFRIMAT Health And Safety Internship

  • Duration: 2 years
  • Minimum Requirements / Skills / Attributes

  • National diploma / Degree in Safety or Environmental Health
  • SAMTRAC Qualification (Preferably Mining SAMTRAC)

  • Knowledge of Mine Health and Safety Act 29 of 1996 legislation.
  • Knowledge of Environmental related legislation would be advantageous

Duties and responsibilities (not limited to):

  • Assist SHE team to oversee and manage day-today functions
  • Assist in developing, implementing, reviewing and improving company SHE policies, SOP’s, COP’s and risk assessments
  • Schedule and attend weekly / monthly SHE meetings as well as committee meetings
  • Assist with workplace inspections, audits and address all findings
  • Conduct toolbox talks

Since the collapse of the apartheid state and the advent of democracy in South Africa, dramatic changes have occurred in the independent (private) school sector. In 2022 there are at least 2282 independent schools in South Africa.[2] The sector educates more than 735,000 learners, of which roughly 75% are black (60% are Black African). Traditional, high-fee independent schools are now a minority in the sector, with only an estimated 20% of schools charging fees of more than R80 000 per annum.

Despite an increase in the number of for-profit independent schools, and in particular for-profit “chain schools”, the sector remains largely not-for-profit. Most independent schools are also small schools, with 350 learners per school or less. The sector serves a wide range of different religions, philosophies and educational approaches across the full socio-economic spectrum.
