POSITION OVERVIEW:

This internship program aims to provide workplace experience to unemployed graduates to equip them to better compete in the labor market and increase their employability opportunities in addition to skills building. The intern will specifically work with the AISJ Activities Office to support all aspects of our media production and social media marketing.

  • Edit photos and videos to create engaging content for official AISJ and AISJ Activities platforms.

The National Department of Health invites unemployed graduates who seek practical work experience
and who are interested in the Public Service career to apply for internship (an occupationally based work
experience opportunity) in the occupation mentioned below for a minimum of twenty-four (24) months.
The applicants must not have been exposed or have participated in an internship programme. The
Department aims to enhance the employability of unemployed graduate as potential employees through
this internship programme.

Notes for Applicants

All short-listed candidates will be subjected to a technical exercise that intends to test relevant technical elements of the job, the logistics of which will be communicated by the Department. Following the interview and technical exercise for SMS posts, the selection panel will recommend candidates to attend a generic managerial competency assessment (in compliance with the DPSA Directive on the implementation of competency-based assessments).

The competency assessment will be testing generic managerial competencies using the mandated DPSA SMS competency assessment batteries. Applications should be submitted on the new Z83 form obtainable from any Public Service department and should be accompanied by a CV only (previous experience must be comprehensively detailed). The Z83 must be fully completed (in line with DPSA Practice note), failure to comply will automatically disqualify the applicant.

Applicants are not required to submit copies of qualification and other relevant documents on application. Certified copies of qualifications and other relevant documents will be requested prior to the final selection phase. Applications should be on one PDF format (If emailed). Applications received after the closing date and those that do not comply with the requirements will not be considered. It is the applicant’s responsibility to have foreign qualifications and national certificates (where applicable) evaluated by the South African Qualification Authority (SAQA).

FNB South Africa is inviting bright, motivated students in their final or penultimate year of study to join them for a two-week Vacation Work program from the 6th July to 17th July 2026. During this time, you’ll gain hands-on experience by engaging with FNB dynamic Business Units.

If your studies are in faculties such as Science – IT, Statistics, or Actuarial Studies – and Engineering and you’re getting close to completing your degree, FNB would love to host you and help you find the work that will be most meaningful to you.

The program takes in students during the holiday periods and applications open during the preceding months. Most opportunities are based at FNB head office in Johannesburg, but the program also hosts students at various offices across the country, depending on the assignments available.
