Job Purpose: Western Cape Mobility Department is Recruiting Traffic Students for the Road Traffic Law Enforcement Bursary

The Western Cape Mobility Department will be recruiting Traffic Students for the completion of a Further Education and Training Certificate: Road Traffic Law Enforcement on a Bursary. This is a twelve (12) month training course which will commence on 08 June 2026 at the Gene Louw College (GLTC), Brackenfell.

The various Traffic Centres are as follows: Worcester, Laingsburg, Beaufort West, Oudtshoorn, Somerset West, Brackenfell, Vredenburg, Vredendal, Knysna, Mosselbay, Calledon, Swellendam and George.

Minimum Requirements

Grade 12 (Senior Certificate or equivalent qualification); Valid motor vehicle license (manual) code B; Applicant must be physically fit, pregnant persons will not be considered as physical tasks during recruitment and subsequent training may pose a threat to the unborn child and/or mother; Visible tattoos and body piercings (except females with one piercing in each ear) will disqualify an applicant as this will not compliment uniformity in a uniform wearing environment; No criminal record; All potential shortlisted candidates will be required to submit a medical certificate stating they can be exposed to strenuous physical exercise, Medical certificate needs to state result of pregnancy test and free from drugs, Potential shortlisted candidates may be required to undergo a psychometric test.

Successful candidates will undergo a full Medical, Psychological, Drug assessment at a Provincial Testing facility prior to admission. Physical fitness, Driving and Written assessment, and an interview. Fingerprint or Identity number clearance for criminal records via SAPS. Undergo ongoing fitness and drug testing assessments for the duration of the course. Well versed with the home language of the majority of residents in a specific area where the successful incumbents will be appointed. People older than 35 years cannot apply.

Recommendation

Key Performance Areas

Enforce road traffic, public passenger and transport legislations; Provide visible traffic control/policing and promote/ensure crime prevention activities; Perform all administrative activities and related duties. Adherence to the terms and conditions of the signed 12 – month contract for the duration of the training program which includes practical deployment on a 24/7 shift system when needed.

Competencies: Good written and verbal communication skills in at least two of the three official languages of the Province; Good interpersonal and public relations skills; Ability to work under pressure; Assertive and confident personality; Ability to work in a team and independently.

Remuneration: A training stipend of R 5 000.00 per month will be paid monthly for the duration of the training period.(This excludes meals and accommodation)

Notes

Shortlisted candidates will be required to attend interviews on adate and time determined by the department and submit documentation for verification purposes and criminal record vetting. All shortlisted candidates shall undertake two pre-entry assessments. One will be a practical exercise to determine acandidate’s suitability based on the post’s technical and generic requirements and the other must be an integrity (ethical conduct) assessment. The selection process will be guided by the EEtargets of the employing department.

About the AFGRI South Africa 3 Year in‑service Apprenticeship

This apprenticeship consists of 3 years of in‑service training toward a qualification as a Tractor Mechanic or Earthmoving Mechanic.

Probation Period

  • The first 6 months serve as a probation period.
  • Both the company and the apprentice can assess suitability for a long‑term relationship.
  • Either party may withdraw during this period without consequences.

Training Structure

After probation, the apprentice enters into an AFGRI contract and begins formal training, which includes:

  • Attendance at a Practical Training Institute for relevant phases (if required).
  • Registration for subjects via distance learning through a college (if required and available).
    • Saturday classes may be required.
    • Distance learning may continue during workplace training.
  • Product Training from relative suppliers or AFGRI specialists.
  • Internal training hosted by AFGRI specialists.

Training Authorities

AFGRI supports training through:

  • AgriSETA (Agriculture Sector Education and Training Authority), or
  • MerSETA (Manufacturing, Engineering and Related Services SETA).

Both AFGRI and the apprentice will be contracted to one of these SETAs.

Costs and Commitments

  • Training provided is free of charge if passed.
  • Any failed subjects or phases must be repeated at the apprentice’s own cost and time.
  • The apprenticeship is bound by a 3‑year contract.
  • If the apprentice withdraws during the apprenticeship or the required work‑back period, repayment of training costs will apply.
  • Work‑back period equals the time it took to qualify (calculated in years).
  • The apprenticeship contract cannot exceed 4 years.
    • If the apprentice does not qualify within 4 years, the contract expires.

Minimum Requirements For Rand Water Bursary

· South African citizens.
· Previously disadvantaged individuals (ACI).
· Have Passed Matric or equivalent and currently studying within one of the aforementioned fields of study.
· Meet minimum average of 65% and academic performance in major subject.
· Not in possession of other bursary/funding
· Applicant must be under the age of 35 years
· Applicants must be full-time students at registered and recognized tertiary educational institution.

Job Purpose: The South African Breweries (SAB) Logistics Technical Trainee

The key purpose of this role is to develop a deep understanding of the Logistics department where you will be immersed into Distribution, Warehousing, Inventory & Planning during a 12-  month period. The Trainees will be allocated to the following sites: HQ Bryanston/Sandton, Isando, Denver and Bloemfontein.

  • A fast paced 12-month Logistics technical program inclusive of exposure to the Logistics function operations and projects as well as interaction with senior leaders
  • Robust evaluations determine progression into each rotation of the program within the 12 months
  • Unleashes potential through 4-month rotational cycles and enabling cross functional work experience in various teams within the respective function
  • The Program works on the 70-20-10 rule, where individuals learn 70% of their knowledge from challenging experiences and projects, 20% from developmental relationships, and 10% from coursework and training. 
  • After a successful 8 months of continuous growth and completion of the program, you will be able apply for roles within the business to create a future with more cheers with us!

Profile:

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent
  • Maximum of 3 years full-time formal working experience
  • Geographical mobility – you may be required to move to different locations  during the 12-month training program and after, and you should be willing to  relocate throughout your career
  • Fully proficient in English
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and ability to quickly adapt to  new systems
  • Ambitious, curious, bold and resilient

  • Attend all theoretical training sessions facilitated by the training provider
  • Complete assessments, assignments, and Portfolio of Evidence (PoE) in line with W&RSETA requirements
  • Perform workplace duties related to retail operations, including:
    • Assisting customers and delivering basic customer service
    • Merchandising and replenishing stock
    • Supporting point-of-sale (POS) operations (where applicable)
    • Maintaining store cleanliness and housekeeping standards
  • Follow company policies, procedures, and standard operating practices
  • Comply with health and safety requirements in the workplace
