Are you passionate about mechanical engineering and ready to build the future of industry and innovation in South Africa? We’re offering a bursary to support talented and motivated students studying towards a mechanical engineering qualification at one of the Universities / Universities of Technology.

Requirements

  • Must be studying towards a National Diploma/ BTech or bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
  • Proof of registration at an accredited South African University of Technology or institution of higher learning.
  • Must have a good academic record.
  • Must be willing to do vocational work and travel to site during university recess

Requirement For AFRIMAT Health And Safety Internship

  • Duration: 2 years
  • Minimum Requirements / Skills / Attributes
  • Grade 12
  • National diploma / Degree in Safety or Environmental Health
  • SAMTRAC Qualification (Preferably Mining SAMTRAC)
  • Driver’s license (Essential)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of Mine Health and Safety Act 29 of 1996 legislation.
  • Knowledge of Environmental related legislation would be advantageous

  • Honest and Reliable
  • Self-Starter
  • Good Communication Skills
  • Adaptable to change
  • Must be able to work under pressure
  • Self-disciplined and motivate

Duties and responsibilities (not limited to):

  • Assist SHE team to oversee and manage day-today functions
  • Assist in developing, implementing, reviewing and improving company SHE policies, SOP’s, COP’s and risk assessments
  • Schedule and attend weekly / monthly SHE meetings as well as committee meetings
  • Assist with workplace inspections, audits and address all findings
  • Conduct toolbox talks
