Duties

The successful candidates will be responsible for, amongst others, the following specific tasks: • Render birth registration services to clients. • Receive notice of birth and relevant supporting documents. • Complete DHA 24. • Perform online verification of informant or take full set of fingerprints when online verifications are not available. • Capture application on the National Population Register. • Submit application for quality assurance to supervisor. • Confirm informant’s details. • Print birth certificate. • Sign and issue birth certificate as delegated. • The informant signs the register to acknowledge receipt of the birth certificate. • Record and maintain a birth occurrence vs. registered births register. • Record and register of foreign birth occurrences register. • Provide death registration services to clients. • Ensure good governance, risk and compliance. • Ensure effective and efficient management of human, physical and financial resources within the Unit.

Allan Gray High School Scholarship Programme for Entrepreneurial Development

The Allan Gray Scholarship Programme offers high school entrepreneurial scholarships to learners who have a curious, entrepreneurial mindset; have the potential to excel academically and are financially deserving. Scholarship recipients receive funding to enrol at leading high schools across the country in addition to support and interventions that develop their entrepreneurial mindset.

The programme aims to produce a confident scholar with entrepreneurial thinking, unlocked potential, leadership qualities, a desire to create value, the ability to solve problems, an aspiration and intention to be a Allan Gray Fellow, an understanding of the culture of community and collaboration, and a positive attitude. The Allan Gray Scholarship Programme is designed to equip the youth with an entrepreneurial mindset to enable future generations to redress the inequalities of the past and to continue the economic and social transformation of South Africa.

The Programme fosters the curiosity and potential already exhibited by these learners through a combination of face-to-face, online and peer learning, as well as one-on-one interventions. The curricula of leading partner high schools are supplemented by mentorship, provided by a dedicated Programme Officer. Allan Gray Scholars complete the programme with an understanding of entrepreneurship and an appreciation of the culture of community and collaboration. They are inspired to create value as part of their entrepreneurial career and are looking forward to becoming Allan Gray Fellows.

  • Applicant must be a current Grade 6 learner in the year of application
  • Applicant must be a South African citizen
  • Applicant must not be older than 12 and not younger than 11 in Grade 6 (Applicants must be born in 2014 or 2015)
  • Applicant must demonstrate financial need
  • Applicant must obtain a minimum of 70% for both English and Mathematics

Process

  • Submit a copy of your application form and supporting documentation
  • Successful applicants will be required to write the Foundation assessment in English and Mathematics for Grade 6 in December 2026
  • After the Foundation assessment, successful candidates will be invited for interviews in early 2027
  • Recommended candidates will be invited to the placement schools for interviews
  • Candidates whose recommendations are approved by the placement schools will be awarded the Allan Gray Scholarship in May 2027
  • Once the Allan Gray Scholarship is awarded, the Foundation, placement school, and the Scholar’s custodian sign a Memorandum of Agreement.

About Rand Water

Rand Water is the largest bulk water utility in Africa and one of the largest in the world. Based in Johannesburg, South Africa, it delivers roughly 4.5 billion liters of potable water daily. It supplies safe drinking water to over 11 million people across Gauteng, Mpumalanga, the Free State, and North West.

Core Operations & Infrastructure

  • The Mandate: It draws and purifies raw water, then sells the bulk potable water to metropolitan and local municipalities, mines, and large industries. The respective municipalities are then responsible for distributing it to individual households.
  • The Network: Rand Water’s sprawling infrastructure includes large purification stations, pumping and booster stations, and a multi-billion Rand regional pipeline network spanning approximately 3,500 km.

Facilitators – 120 (Short-term Contract)

Reporting Line: National Dialogue Project Coordinator: Content & Programmes Location: Various Provinces (Nationwide) Closing Date: 09 July 2026.
Main Purpose: To facilitate inclusive, trauma-informed, respectful, and participatory ward-based and sectoral dialogues as part of the National Dialogue Pilot Phase. The Facilitator will create a safe and enabling environment where all voices, especially those of marginalised and vulnerable groups are heard, and meaningful engagement is promoted.

Key Responsibility Areas:

  • Dialogue Facilitation
  • Facilitate ward-based and sectoral dialogues using the approved National Dialogue methodology.

  • Cultural sensitivity and emotional intelligence.

  • Documentation: Take detailed, accurate, and neutral notes during dialogues. Capture key discussion points, divergent views, agreements, and recommendations. Ensure the dialogue is recorded and transcribed (must have a recording device)
  • Report Writing: Produce clear, structured, and objective dialogue reports using the approved template.
  • Synthesise complex discussions into coherent summaries.
  • Quality Assurance: Collaborate with the Facilitator to verify accuracy of captured content. Ensure reports reflect the diversity of voices heard.
  • Compliance: Maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical documentation standards.

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in minute-taking, rapporteur work, report writing, transcription, or similar documentation roles.
  • Excellent listening, note-taking, and writing skills.
  • Fluency in English and at least one other official South African language.
  • Ability to remain neutral and objective under pressure.

Dis-Chem Pharmacies’ Sandton store has an opportunity available for a Dispensary Support to join the team. The main purpose of this is to employ learners who are capable of doing and completing the learner basic pharmacist assistant course. This course will equip learners to understand the underlying principles of all of the major areas related to the pharmaceutical environment and dispensing and promotes the notion of quality on the job learning. Staff will be employed in a Fixed Term position as Dispensary Support until such time as they are registered with the SAPC as learner basic assistants. Only once qualified as a basic pharmacist assistant will permanent employment be offered.

Minimum Requirements

Essential:

  • Grade 12 – Matric or a Senior Certificate with Pure Mathematics 50%, Life Science and or Physical Science and obtained at least an average of 50% 

Job Specification

Dispensary Support staff must have completed a proficiency test approving them to apply for registration with Pharmacy Council (SAPC) as a learner basic assistant. 

A pharmacist’s assistant registered in the category pharmacist’s assistant learner basic; may perform the following services or acts under the direct personal supervision of a pharmacist in a pharmacy:

  • The sale of Schedule 1 medicines or scheduled substances.
  • Assist with the compounding, manipulation or preparation of a non-sterile medicine or scheduled substance according to a formula and Standard Operating Procedures approved by the responsible pharmacist.
  • Assist with the unpacking and merchandising of stock and cleaning of dispensary and OTC shelves approved by the responsible pharmacist.
  • Any other duties assigned to them by the Dispensary Manager.
  • Learn to accurately interpret scripts and act in a professional and responsible manner and within the legal requirements in accordance with the South African Pharmaceutical Council.
  • Ensure accurate picking / packing / labelling and checking of medication and be aware of common dosages as well as important drug interactions.
  • Ensure that all medications, are checked for accuracy by a pharmacist and signed by a pharmacist.
  • Assist in the control of stock (manage cleanliness and packing organisation of shelves and medicine expiry dates) of Schedule 1 to Schedule 5 medicines or scheduled substances.
  • Follow up with patients regarding script tracking report as requested by the dispensary manager and follow up appointments.
  • Assist with call centre scripts and patient service telephone calls.
  • Provide information to individuals in order to promote health.
  • Assist with scheme authorization of chronic, HIV and AIDS and oncology medication.
  • Report on low – / out of stock levels and stock errors to the dispensary manager.
  • Receive dispensary stock in accordance with the SOP set out by the company.
