Epiroc is excited to offer an excellent opportunity to join the Apprenticeship Program within the Equipment & Service business area at Epiroc, located in Krugersdorp, South Africa. This program is designed for motivated individuals eager to develop their technical skills and gain practical experience in a dynamic, industry-leading product company environment. As a Millwright Apprentice, you will become part of our Rebuild department, contributing to meaningful projects while receiving comprehensive mentorship and structured training.
Mission of the role:
The Millwright Apprentice role is an essential stepping stone towards building a strong foundational career in engineering and service technology. Under direct supervision, you will assist with daily operational tasks and engage actively in training sessions, workshops, and mentoring activities aimed at honing your craftsmanship and theoretical knowledge.
- Support the department by learning and performing hands-on technical duties related to equipment maintenance and rebuild processes.
- Participate in research and assist in preparing reports that contribute to ongoing projects and service improvements.
- Maintain precise record-keeping and documentation aligned with company standards and compliance requirements.
- Adhere strictly to health and safety policies and demonstrate ethical practices in all tasks.
- Show initiative, curiosity, and eagerness to develop new skills and contribute ideas for continuous improvement.
Who Epiroc is Looking For:
Successful candidates will possess a solid academic background and demonstrate a genuine enthusiasm for engineering and technical problem-solving:
Minimum Requirements for Apprenticeship:
Education:
- Grade 12 (National Senior Certificate) with at least two languages, including English.
- Mathematics (Pure or Technical) and Science are required.
- A minimum of two additional subjects.
- Engineering Graphics and Design or Engineering Drawing will be advantageous.
- An Engineering Diploma (Mechanical/Electrical) will be beneficial but not required.
Technical Requirements:
- Minimum N2 qualification with Fitting Theory and Electrical Theory.
- Basic knowledge of electronics will be advantageous.
Experience:
- Any exposure to an engineering or workshop environment will be an advantage.
Skills and Attributes:
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to learn and develop technical skills.
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
Additional Requirements:
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Shortlisted candidates will be required to complete assessments.
Epiroc is looking for:
- 2 x Millwright
- 2 x Fitters
- 2 x Turner Machinists
- 2x Tool, Jig and Die Maker
